The erstwhile "Emerald Academy" was established by Dr. Ajeet Kumar Sharma & Md. Azad as a pre-primary school on 02th April 1997. Gradually as it gained popularity, the need for expansion was felt and Primary classes were added. During April 1999. Classes were added up to class VI and the school was renamed "Sun Shine School". The school was registered with "North Bengal Chhota Adalpur Central School Society" w.e.f. 01 April 2003 with and North Bengal Central School. The school has now been upgraded to Secondary level w.e.f. 01 April 2004 and continues to grow from strength to strength achieving one milestone after the other.
